As compared to Western European countries, East European counterparts have more affordable trained manpower. Of all resources, human resources being most productive and intelligent is demanded most. Opening up of markets has contributed to greater empowerment of skilled human resource. Further, with a background of manufacturing and industry, workforce of these countries have greater exposure to an industrial environment. East European countries are a source of efficient technological processes. These processes are exported to other countries on demand. Metal extraction, engineering processes, architecture, and fabrication are areas of specialty of these nations. Automobile manufacturing, chemical processing, aviation, electrical and electronics, and computer science are areas of focus as of now. In recent years, these countries have made particular progress in ITES (information technology enabled services) sector. A substantial volume of computational. Imagine having to do the work of a jackhammer using a sledgehammer or a pickaxe, and you'll quickly understand how important this one machine is to the construction industry. Concrete, asphalt and rock are hard -- sometimes really hard -- to work with. Thanks to that toughness, roads and building foundations last for decades. But when rebuilding or mining projects require removing these unyielding substances, a sledgehammer just isn't enough. That's when jackhammers come in handy. T-shaped jackhammers are among the most iconic, fearsome and ear-shattering tools on construction and demolition sites. Because they combine two fundamental human hand tools (a hammer and a chisel) in one mechanized body, they are also one of the most useful. We could always go back to the old way -- using heavy-headed sledgehammers -- but there probably aren't enough chiropractors in the world to keep construction workers' backs aligned. Plus, sledgehammers are achingly slow.|What are some of the hot new gadgets on the market today? According to the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), basic pension plans depend on their years of service and the representative's "high-3" average (i.e. their three highest-paid consecutive years of service). There's some other math that goes into figuring out the final number, but, for example, a rank-and-file member who's served for 25 years can expect to take home about $67,250 per year in pension. But a congressperson who's only served three terms (or one if they're a senator) might only get $17,588 if they retire after six years. Members of Congress can also enjoy other retirement benefits thanks to FERS: Social Security and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). If a government employee is covered by FERS, they pay into their Social Security fund at the same rate as private employees. But they also have the option to invest in the TSP, which is available to all federal employees and is similar to a 401(k). According to Investopia, what's so great about the TSP is the plan has super-low operating expenses compared to those outside of the TSP (38 cents in expenses for every $1,000 invested compared to $1.20 per $1,000 invested). That means their nest egg grows faster than most because low expenses help them achieve "high long-term investment returns." Not too shabby if you can put up with everything else that goes along with public service these days. Believe it or not, there's no standard formula in the U.S. Depending on which state a senator is situated in, they could be paid anywhere from $100 a year (jeez New Hampshire!) to $97,197 (California), according to an analysis from career site, Zippia.|Students should declare the Intelligence Analysis major when they register for orientation or as soon as they know they wish to be an IA major. Current students wishing to declare or change a major, minor or pre-professional program must complete a request through MyMadison. Additional department specific information will be available when that academic plan is selected. Follow all directions. Steps necessary to execute your request. Once all necessary steps are completed, the department will either approve or deny your request or contact you for additional information. For additional assistance making this request, view the Change/Declare a Major/Minor tutorial in MyMadison or on the tutorials website. Those declaring IA should take IA150. Introduction to Intelligence Analysis at their earliest opportunity, in fall sophomore year at the very latest. Continuation in the IA program is competitive. Full admission to IA occurs after fall sophomore year. The top 58 students (based on their grades in three required IA courses that semester) will be invited to continue. A minimum grade of “C” is required in each of the three courses, but higher will likely be needed to be among the top 58 who continue in the major.

Chimpanzees were used because they're the closest modern-day relative to humans. Four to seven million years ago, humans and chimpanzees diverged from a common ancestor. Researchers taught the five adult chimpanzees to walk on treadmills. They walked upright on their hind legs. Knucklewalked on all fours. The chimps wore masks that tracked how much oxygen they used. The researchers also measured how much pressure was exerted on the treadmill. This revealed which muscles the animals were using. The same measurements were taken for the four adult humans. The walking tests showed that the chimps, as a group, averaged the same energy expenditure walking on all fours as they did walking on two legs. As a group, the humans used 75 percent less energy walking upright than the chimps used walking on all fours. Essentially, walking upright seemed to be beneficial because it saved energy. But what appeared even more interesting was that the amount of energy expended by the chimps varied between them.

You scan the area as the dust settles; it reveals nothing more than small fires where each of the armored vehicles had been just a moment ago. You exchange horrified looks with the remaining members of your platoon. It becomes excruciatingly clear to all of you that it's time to run. As you take a step or two, a brilliant light fills your sight. Eighteen miles away, the effectiveness of the attack is confirmed. Welcome to the United States Army's world of future combat. At the center of this vision for the immediate future is what took out you. Your caravan -- the non-line-of-sight cannon (NLOS-C). Capable of rapidly firing a number of different rounds -- from what appears to be out of nowhere -- the NLOS-C can accurately put the kibosh on enemy movement quickly, effectively and with decidedly less collateral damage. Read about this essential leap forward in American military firepower on the next page.

These legacies of history created lasting fault lines. Because eastern Ukraine came under Russian rule much earlier than western Ukraine, people in the east have stronger ties to Russia and have been more likely to support Russian-leaning leaders. Western Ukraine, by contrast, spent centuries under the shifting control of European powers such as Poland and the Austro-Hungarian Empire-one reason Ukrainians in the west have tended to support more Western-leaning politicians. The eastern population tends to be more Russian-speaking and Orthodox, while parts of the west are more Ukrainian-speaking and Catholic. With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Ukraine became an independent nation. But uniting the country proved a difficult task. For one, “the sense of Ukrainian nationalism is not as deep in the east as it is in west,” says former ambassador to Ukraine Steven Pifer. The transition to democracy and capitalism was painful and chaotic, and many Ukrainians, especially in the east, longed for the relative stability of earlier eras. Adrian Karatnycky, a Ukraine expert and former fellow at the Atlantic Council of the United States. These fissures were laid bare during the 2004 Orange Revolution, in which thousands of Ukrainians marched to support greater integration with Europe. On ecological maps you can even see the divide between the southern and eastern parts of Ukraine-known as the steppes-with their fertile farming soil and the northern and western regions, which are more forested, says Serhii Plokhii, a history professor at Harvard and director of its Ukrainian Research Institute. Crimea was occupied and annexed by Russia in 2014, followed shortly after by a separatist uprising in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donbas that resulted in the declaration of the Russian-backed People’s Republics of Luhansk and Donetsk. Today, Russian troops are again massed on Ukraine’s borders, fault lines that reflect the regions tumultuous history.

Most people don't want to live in a cave, but with some exceptions, they don't want to be overexposed either. If a space is in need of lots of artificial lighting, electric outlets and extension cords, or a large investment in window coverings, the overall design could be a problem. Setting up a game room can be a lot of fun -- but it's a waste of space if you're not going to use it. Having an office, sewing, craft, reading or multi-purpose room may seem like a great idea. But if it becomes a dim dumping ground of boxes and bags with a closed door, it's a project in need of completion that likely will inspire dread. You probably won't use a family game room if your family doesn't play games, and you won't want to spend time in a recreation room that looks like a museum. Keep it real about what works for you and what you already do, instead of what you could see yourself doing in a space.|One of the most hyped sports tournaments in the world, this year's edition promised more action and diverse representation, with this being the first time ever that 24 teams are competing for the trophy, a step up from the 16 slots that were the norm until last year. There would be a total of 6 groups this year, all in order to accommodate the 8 new teams. The first and second ranked sides from each group would then advance to the knockout round, in addition to four of the best performing third ranked teams. There are a few disadvantages to this, as pointed out by UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino due to the need for accepting third placed teams, as it might result in prior knowledge of qualification results, potentially eliminating any possible suspense for the fans. Even more undesirable would be collaboration between teams to influence outcomes. Featuring for the first time, Albania, regular drama queen France (and this year's host), a very structured and disciplined Switzerland and dark horse Romania this group promises a lot of action both on and off the field.

Medical supplies also dangerously low. Another major concern is that around 70 percent of medics have fled the area. Currently, 118,000 internally displaced people are registered in Ukraine, with 87 percent of them having fled the east of the country, according to UN data. Over 1,000 people are reportedly leaving the conflict zone each day. 740,000 refugees have arrived in Russia since the beginning of this year, according to Russian and UN estimates. Some former residents - and now refugees - told RT’s Maria Finoshina how and why their lives have changed forever. “They were bombing us non-stop, day and night. They hit our neighbor’s house, killing her. How can one live in this country? ” Tatyana Belyaeva, a Lugansk resident, said. “My house was destroyed, there’s nothing left. There were no strategic targets in our neighborhood,” Pyotr Seletsky, a Lugansk resident and ER doctor, told RT. And his wife spoke of how they had lost their home.
